  • The March meeting will take place at the Makers Space at CU Boulder and one of the students will give a presentation on CAD software for quilt design.
  • Representatives from Hoffman Fabrics will also be coming to the March meeting to talk to us about their new batik fabric line ME + You and their printing process.
  • If anyone is interested, there will be a quilt show in Estes Park, called Face of Fiber in the Rockies. This is a juried show and will be held June 10, 11 & 12, 2016. If you would like any further information, contact Wendy Bermingham.
  • We had presentation by Shelby Skumanich about the quilt show at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. The theme is “How New is Modern” and will be held in October of 2017. All info can be found on this post on our blog. It will be updated periodically as details get flushed out. You have all of 2016 to make the quilt for the show and this year we will focus on how to maintain engagement and enthusiasm. Show starts October 26, 2017 and comes down January 25, 2018. Quilts should be of an original design and 3-D is welcome
  • Shelby will be needing some help to put this show on and she is looking for help with promotion, photography, writing/copy editing, event planning and hanging the show. The guild also talked about an educational component in the form of a workshop, class, lecture, panel or artist talk.
  • Please take the Inspiration Quilt Survey to help us decide which quilts we want to use as inspiration for the show. The committee and interested members will be viewing the selection of quilts at the museum in mid-March to chose the finale 3-4 quilts.
  • Lauren Lang spoke about our program for May on Barn Quilts of Boulder County.. The guild would like to do a charity quilt based off traditional blocks, which we will talk about more during May’s meeting.
